How much weight can I expect to lose on Slimwell’s Doctor-Assisted Weight Loss Injection Program?
Many patients report a significant change in their weight and body composition—25 pounds of fat loss during our 40-day program on average! Results may vary depending on your body type and your adherence to other components of the program (i.e. diet, lifestyle changes, etc.). The weight loss may also not necessarily be spread out evenly—some days you may see little or no weight loss, while others you may notice more. This is completely normal. We focus on your fat loss overall and your muscle retention!
Are your injections painful?
Many patients ask this question, and the short answer is: no! Our injections are smaller than an insulin needle. Most clients have reported minimal, if any, discomfort whatsoever. The reason daily injections are utilized in our protocol is because it ensures you receive 100% purity in each dose of the prescribed hormone and, therefore, all of the benefit. There is a prescription attached to your slim injections so you know you are receiving the best quality, medical-grade product.
Are there any side effects to taking your injections?
You may experience a feeling of reduced appetite. This often aids clients in following the low-calorie diet that accompanies our weight loss with injection program. Some clients may feel slight fatigue and restlessness, or experience irregularities in their menstrual cycle. Our program aims to eliminate, or minimize, the occurrence of most side effects by providing close physician supervision and paying special attention to any prior health conditions.
Will I regain the weight I lost after I finish the program?
The Slimwell program differs from other diet programs because it supports the loss of fat, rather than muscle mass proven by our body composition scanning. Other people who have lost weight quickly often do so because their body loses muscle, rather than burning excess fat. This loss of muscle is detrimental to their metabolism. Thus, when they begin eating normally again, they are much more likely to retain fat and gain back the weight lost as quickly as they lost it. Slimwell’s Medically Supported Weight Loss with Injections Program is also beneficial in that it helps clients develop healthier eating habits and portion sizing. Many clients report that they naturally adapt to modified eating behaviour, and develop a healthier relationship with food.
Will my medications interfere with the effectiveness of the Slimwell Program?
Most medications can be taken in conjunction with our program. However, we require you to disclose your medical history and all current medications to ensure your safety and wellness.
Are there conditions that would prevent me from safely participating in the Slimwell program?

What about bloodwork and prescreening?
As with any sound medically supervised weight loss program, Slimwell requires proper blood work to ensure the highest level of safety, including:
CBC – A CBC, or complete blood count, may be ordered to measure red and white blood cells, platelet levels, hemoglobin, and hematocrit. A CBC is the most common type of blood work performed, and is used primarily to screen for pre-existing infections or states of inflammation.
Basic Metabolic Panel – A basic metabolic panel may be ordered to check your glucose and electrolyte levels, fluid balances, and kidney function.
Lipid Panel – There is a small chance that the HCG diet will increase your cholesterol level, so a lipid panel may be taken before and during the treatment to ensure that your cholesterol is remaining at safe levels.
Hepatic Function Panel – A hepatic function panel may be ordered to ensure that your liver is healthy enough to undergo the HCG diet.
Free T4 & TSH – Blood work known as free T4 and TSH tests may be called to check the function of your thyroid as well.
What about psychiatric comorbidities?
Because of the potential harm of attempting weight loss in an unsuitable candidate, all patients to be enrolled in Slimwell’s weight loss program must declare any mental illness (e.g. severe or untreated depression) and for eating disorders on the mandatory medical intake form.
Many of the psychological and psychiatric problems commonly associated with obesity are not contraindications to enrollment in the Slimwell program. For example, mild to moderate depression typically improves with weight loss. Nevertheless, our medical team must be aware of these problems before enrollment. In addition, Slimwell’s medical lead must ensure that any such problems are relatively stable or well managed before the patient begins a weight loss program.
Lastly, most psychiatric medications unfortunately have the very common side effect of weight gain and therefore, part of initial recommendation may include a letter to your GP or specialist to consider modifications to your medications. In some cases, this may include cessation of the medication all together. Most decisions regarding your ability to participate will depend on the type and severity of the illness, so we recommend contacting us since it will often be made on a case-by-case basis.
I heard that you can get blood clots from this injections. Is this true?
This is not true. The amount of hCG that one needs to inject to increase their risk for blood clots is 10 or 20 times more than the concentration that we inject. Those complications can be seen in fertility treatments and other types of treatments, but not the Slimwell program.
I’m a vegetarian. Can I still participate in the Slimwell program?
Yes, vegetarians can participate in our program! However, they will need to work a little harder to ensure that they are attaining the same amount of daily protein intake as non-vegetarians.
Can I really exercise on an 800 calorie Slimwell VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet)?
Yes, you can. Over 70% of our clients work out daily while on our 800 calorie program.
Why must I inject in my belly? Can I inject anywhere else?
Slimwell recommends injecting only in the belly. The belly is the best place to inject because it contains a lot of subcutaneous fat. This injection needs to go in subcutaneous fat, not muscle.
Are there any medications that cross-react with human chorionic gonadotropin?
In general, there are no medications that hCG would cross-react negatively with. We recommend declaring any medications you are currently on in your intake questionnaire to ensure this.
Can you take two programs back to back, or do you become tolerant to it?
Yes, you can take Slimwell programs back to back! It is not possible to develop an hCG tolerance.
Can diabetics do the Slimwell program, or will their blood sugar drop too much?
Diabetics and non-diabetics can equally take the Slimwell program safely. Blood sugar levels should not be affected greatly. In other words, one should not encounter the risk of hypoglycemia.
Does hCG cause weight loss?
No, hCG itself does not cause weight loss. Without Slimwell’s calorie restriction program, hCG will not cause weight loss directly or on its own.
Can a teenager participate in the Slimwell program?
Yes, Slimwell is safe for teenagers.
Why do I need to take mineral supplements?
VLCDs (Very Low Calorie Diets) may decrease levels of Ca, Mg, and K+, which can have serious complications. Slimwell supplements ensure these levels are maintained for your health and wellness.
What should I do if I get sick?
While some people continue to lose weight when they have an infection—such as a cold or sinusitis—Slimwell’s recommendation is stop injecting until you have recovered, and then resume as if there was no break in the first place. Despite stopping injections, adhere as close as you can to the 800 calorie diet. We also recommend steering clear of sugar-loaded cough medications.
If I consume less than 800 calories, will I lose even more weight?
Firstly, Slimwell does not endorse the daily consumption of calories below 800. There is evidence to suggest that in certain individuals, the body changes regulatory and metabolic pathways to resist losing more weight when calories are that low.
I’ve done an hCG diet before. Why is the Slimwell diet so much different?
Slimwell has updated an outdated program that was, in large part, based on myth. We have developed a new program in keeping with current evidence-based medicine, and backed by body composition analysis testing.

Restricted Slimwell foods are those that contain carbohydrates, sugar, oils outside of those used for cooking (1 tbsp allowed), processed foods, and foods with known preservatives and obesogens.
What is an obesogen?
Obesogens are foreign compounds found abundantly in food packaging, that disrupt the balance of proper lipid metabolism and alter metabolic set points—thus promoting obesity.
How do I avoid obesogens?
In general, you can’t. But to minimize exposure to obesogens, Slimwell recommends preparing your own foods from fresh ingredients, avoiding packaged foods, minimizing canned foods, and drinking out of BPA-free plastics.
Can I eat out successfully while on the Slimwell program?
While some clients may be successful doing so, eating out would most likely negatively impact your program. It is not recommended that you eat out while on our program, as you cannot control the calories, protein, or volume of the food.
What does hCG stand for?
hCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, and SlimWell uses only prescribed, medical-grade hCG.

Yes, hCG is a schedule 2 medication and Slimwell requires a prescription. If you have ever purchased hCG without a prescription, it is almost certain that it contains none of the actual hormone.
Does there need to be a rest time between Slimwell’s Phase 2 round, or can you simply do back to back without any resting period?
Clients who require a lot of weight loss will often do back to back Slimwell programs.
What does VLCD stand for, and what is the caloric definition of a VCLD?
VLCD stands for Very Low Calorie Diet, and the caloric definition of a VCLD at Slimwell is 800 calories or less.
Is all hCG created equal?

Does hCG increase chance of pregnancy in women?
At very high doses, hCG is rarely—if ever—used as a sole treatment for fertility. hCG at the very low dose that we use will not increase your chances of pregnancy.
Will I gain back the weight I lose after the Slimwell hCG diet?
If you follow the Slimwell diet, and continue to eat properly after completing the diet, you should stay within 2 pounds of your end weight. Gaining weight afterwards reflects returning to old lifestyle habits.
Why are some fruits not allowed on Phase 3 but allowed in Phase 2? That makes no sense, right?
Wrong. In Slimwell’s Phase 2, you are on a very strict calorie count and that prevents you for over-consuming foods that are easy to east too much of. Now that you are eating full calories, you are more at risk to eat 4 juicy and sweet oranges (with lots of sugar) and have the weight creep up.
Why are some restricted foods offered in your prepared menus?
Firstly, Slimwell clients know how difficult it can be to completely stay away from carbohydrates. Our dishes are professionally prepared and contain exact amounts of each ingredient. It is highly unlikely that we can create a dish at home as flavourful as the ones provided, that has the quota for protein and calories under 250 while offering a meat and three veggies.
I don’t think I can do the diet because I love my pasta!
You can! Great substitutes for typical pasta made from wheat and other grains are miracle noodles and zoodles (prepared from spiralized zucchini).

The controlled group experienced reduced body fat percentage, reduced fat mass, and an increase in lean body mass. Slimwell patients have reported additional weight loss when adding Slimwell Forskolin to their program supplements.

If I do experience those symptoms, what are the symptoms from?
The symptoms are most likely from the calorie reduction and the withdrawal of carbohydrates, sugars, and preservatives from your body.
Is hCG legal and FDA approved for weight loss?
While hCG is legal, the FDA has not approved hCG specifically for use as a weight loss treatment.
Is it possible that hCG directly affects metabolism in some manner?
It is more than possible—it is highly likely that this is the pathway that hCG affects. The hypothalamus has a very closely related hormone known as luteinizing hormone (LH) that it secretes, targeting the pituitary gland. hCG affects the body in a similar manner.
What is the hypothalamus gland, and how is it affected by the hCG hormone?
The hypothalamus is the gland that moderates the thyroid, adrenals, fat storage, and overall metabolic rate. hCG largely influences the hypothalamus.
How are Slimwell injections stored?
When you receive your Slimwell program kit, please store hCG cards in the fridge and keep the B vitamin at room temperature in the dark.

Can I complete the Slimwell hCG protocol if I am lactose intolerant?
How much salt does Slimwell recommend using?
Slimwell has no restriction on the use of salt.
Won’t I starve if I only consume 800 calories per day?
No, since catabolism of your fat reserves make up the rest of the calories your body requires. In other words, Slimwell clients begin to burn the fat, which acts as a source of energy in place of food.
Why is it said that hCG can reset or at least influence one’s metabolism?
The idea behind hCG and metabolism comes from the fact that the receptors for the hCG molecule are found in the brain’s hypothalamus gland.
How long does it take for the Slimwell package to arrive after it has been ordered?
You will normally receive the Slimwell package the very next business day after the order was placed.
What is Slimwell’s recommendaton on the use of cooking oil?
Dieters are permitted to cook with small amounts of low calorie oils; 1-2 tbsp should be sufficient for most recipes. Good examples of permitted oils include extra virgin olive oil and coconut oil. Coconut oil, in particular, is highly recommended.
Please note that heat can destroy the beneficial fats in some oils. Polyunsaturated fats are the most fragile and are not recommended for cooking. Coconut oil and olive oil, which are mainly saturated fats, are able to withstand higher temperatures than other oils—making them some of the best oils for cooking.
We never recommend frying, as this will require a lot of oil, and therefore you will consume large amounts of needless calories that will stall your program.
